The list includes fatty fish, matcha tea, turmeric, and dark chocolate. According to the expert, turmeric is particularly effective in slowing brain aging.
"It contains the antioxidant curcumin, which has anti-inflammatory properties, enhances cognitive function and slows brain aging," the dietitian explained.
Fatty fish such as salmon are rich in omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids.
"Regular consumption of such fish improves memory and reduces the risk of dementia. Ideally, it should be eaten daily in portions of 100-150 grams," Mukhina advised.
As a healthy dessert, Dr. Mukhina recommended dark bitter chocolate for older adults.
"It’s rich in antioxidants and boosts mood. Thanks to theobromine, it enhances cognitive functions, focus, and energy. Just 30-50 grams a day is enough," she noted.
Among beverages, the doctor highlighted matcha green tea, known for its antioxidants, ability to improve focus and cognitive enhancement. One to two cups daily are sufficient, she said.
Previously, a doctor recommended a drink to prevent cancer and insomnia.
