Chairman of the National Scientific Cardiac-Surgery Center Yuriy Pya assured President Nursultan Nazarbayev that Kazakhstan people no longer had to go abroad to get heart surgeries. According to him, all kinds of heart surgeries are available in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports.
“I would like to assure you that new cardiac-surgery technologies that are available in the world are available for all Kazakhstan citizens in our country. Next year, I think, we will not only implement new technologies, but will also take part in further development of the technologies,” the cardiac surgeon said after receiving Parasat decoration from the President.
“Our equipment is as good as anywhere else. Our citizens no longer have to go abroad,” Nazarbayev said.
“Absolutely right. Everything that is being done in the world is being done in the Medical Holding and in regional hospitals in Kazakhstan,” Yuriy Pya replied.
“He performs unique operations and saves people’s lives,” President said listing the doctor's merits.
Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that the first surgery on transplantation of a donor heart had been performed in Kazakhstan this year, as well as the first surgery on full replacement of a heart with an artificial one.
The total of over 2,000 different surgeries have been performed in the National Scientific Cardiac-Surgery Center so far and around 9,000 heart surgeries have been made around Kazakhstan.
