Kazakhstan is planning to spend 100 billion tenge ($680 million) to improve life quality of disabled people, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Minister of Labor and Social Protection Gulshara Abdykalikova. She presented the National Plan on Observance of Rights and Improvement of Life Quality of Challenged People to the Majilis (lower chamber of Parliament) on October 24. “The main objective of the National Plan is to ensure accessibility for disabled in the society and first of all accessibility to infrastructure, post offices, educational facilities and any other offices. We suggest to introduce a number of standards at the first stage. Several amendments are required to be made into the legislation. At the second stage it is planned to implement full-scale certification of the facilities,” Gulshara Abdykalikova said. Implementation of the National Plan for 2012-2018 provides for spending of around 100 billion tenge ($680 million). According to the Minister, this amount is not final and will be adjusted.
