Zhanaozen administration estimated damage from clashes at 250 million tenge

The damage caused to Zhanaozen town during the clashes of December 16, 2011 is estimated at 250 million tenge ($1.7 million), Tengrinews.kz reports. This value was announced on March 29 by the lawyer representing the town administration. Earlier press-secretary of Mangistau oblast court Nurlan Kuntuov told the journalists that the third day of the trial should have Zhanaozen police officers to take the stand as the complainants. Around 20 victims have already called back their claims against the convicts. Most of them are going to get reimbursement from the state however. By Indira Myrzabayeva
