Scat pays compensations to families of all plane crash victims
Scat airline has completed payments of compensations to the families of the victims of the CRJ-200 plane crash in Kyzyltu village of Almaty oblast, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the company's PR-Director Viktoriya Ulyanova. According to her, the airline has fulfilled the obligations it undertook to pay the compensations and organize the funerals in the amount of 82 million tenge ($547 thousand). Besides, the company is finishing the work with the insurance companies on insurance coverage of the victims' families. On January 29 a Bombardier airplane owned by Scat airline crashed 7km from Almaty airport during its second attempt to land. According to the prosecutors, the plane was performing a Kokshetau-Almaty flight. The accident claimed lives of 5 crew members and 16 passengers including a 2-year-old boy. Local executive authorities will render support to the families of the victims in the amount of 1 million tenge ($6.7 thousand). Scat airline paid 3 million tenge ($20 thousand) to the families of each victim. The board recorder of the CRJ-200 has been decoded by the Interstate Aviation Commission and its data is currently being analyzed by Kazakhstan Ministry of Transport and Communications.
