Tengrinews.kz – Signs of solar plasma ejection reaching Earth have been detected, the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences reported.

According to scientists, the plasma cloud was ejected from the Sun on October 3.

“There are currently no geomagnetic disturbances or storms. Since the ejection is slow, the solar wind parameters are changing gradually, without shocks, and the magnetosphere has time to adapt,” the report stated.

Researchers noted that these disturbances could last for a day or more, which means there remains a high probability of weak geomagnetic storms occurring soon.

“At the same time, this event is taking place against the background of a calm Sun and is not expected to develop further,” experts added.

Once the plasma parameters normalize, Earth’s magnetic field will stabilize, the laboratory concluded.
