A chemical wastes dump site will be created near Pavlodar, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the oblast administration’s press-service. The dump will be located 80km from the city. The idea of creating the platform for burial of hazardous chemicals belongs to one of the local suppliers of chemical products. The special dump is one of the company’s projects. “Pavlodar oblast currently has no special area for disposal of such wastes. That’s why all such chemicals are transported to other regions of the country. There are cases when some entrepreneurs fail to observe the safety rules and dispose the wastes correctly. By doing so they violate the ecological regulations and pollute the environment,” the press-service writes. A special dumpsite in the region is highly demanded, the press-service added, especially since Pavlodar will focus on development of a chemical cluster in Kazakhstan and chemical industry will be one of the main specializations of the future production facilities that are expected to be constructed in Pavlodar Special Zone soon.
