Two people have been injured in the fire next to Stolichyi supermarket in Almaty, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-secretary of Almaty Emergency Situations Department Yerkebulan Alimkulov. The fire was localized. “The fire occurred at the total area of 400 square meters. Half of the building is used for offices and half as storage facilities,” Alimkulov said. According to him, the fire quenching operation involved 56 people, 10 basic and 6 special vehicles. According to the Department, two people have been delivered to the emergency hospital with a suspicion of poisoning with carbon monoxide but later both refused from hospitalization. Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that an office building next to Almaty's Stolichnyi supermarket caught fire. 45 people were evacuated. A message about the fire in the two-storey building at the crossing of Abylai khan and Kabanbai batyr streets was received by the emergency services at 01:40 p.m.
