The Minister of the Interior of Turkey, Ali Yerlikaya, confirmed the information about the terrorist attack on his social media page on X (formerly Twitter).
"Unfortunately, there are fatalities and injuries following the attack. I pray for mercy for the deceased and wish a speedy recovery for the wounded. The public will be informed of further developments. Please follow official sources for statements," he wrote.
According to Turkish media, witnesses first heard an explosion at the gates of the facility, followed by gunfire.
According to Meduza, the Turkish aerospace company is a key enterprise in Turkey's aerospace and defense industry. The company manufactures components for the Airbus A380 and the A400M military transport aircraft, among other products.
Later, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that four people were killed during the terrorist attack in the capital, Ankara.
According to the A Haber channel, the president made this statement during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Kazan.
"As a result of the attack on TUSAS, there are four fatalities," Erdogan said.
The report also states that in connection with the terrorist attack in Ankara, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made a statement. He reported that two terrorists had been neutralized: one man and one woman.
"Four people died as a result of the attack, and 14 were injured, three of whom are in serious condition," the minister explained.
He added that the identities of the terrorists are being established. Once this information is available, the relevant agency will inform the public about which terrorist organization they belonged to.
According to Anadolu agency, the country's Minister of Justice, Mehmet Fatih Kacır, announced that the Ankara Chief Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation into the terrorist act.
