Tengrinews.kz - A tragic accident occurred on September 16 when an SUV crossed into oncoming traffic, leading to a deadly collision, reports the Jambyl Region police department.
The incident took place on the 526th kilometer of the international highway "Western Europe - Western China." According to the police, the driver of a Cadillac Escalade was overtaking when they veered into the oncoming lane, colliding with a DAF truck traveling in the opposite direction.

"After the initial collision, the Cadillac Escalade was thrown back into its own lane, where it struck a Gazelle van that it had initially attempted to overtake. Both vehicles ignited immediately after the crash. As a result of the accident, the 37-year-old driver of the Gazelle, the 30-year-old driver of the Cadillac Escalade, and five passengers - including a two-year-old child - died at the scene," stated the police department.
A pre-trial investigation has been initiated, and the Jambyl Region police department urges strict adherence to traffic rules to prevent such tragedies.
