Tengrinews.kz - A tragic incident unfolded at a ferroalloy plant in Karaganda, where eight workers suffered severe burns following an unexpected flame burst from a furnace. According to the Karaganda region health department, one of the injured workers has tragically passed away today.
"Despite the efforts of medical staff, one of the injured workers from the Karaganda ferroalloy plant, born in 1993 and suffering from extensive 85% body burns, has succumbed to their injuries. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and loved ones of the deceased," stated the health department.
The incident occurred on July 20 at furnace No. 1 of the plant, resulting in injuries of varying severity to eight employees.
A preliminary investigation into the incident at the ferroalloy plant is currently underway.
