Tengrinews.kz - The Department of Healthcare of Karaganda region provided an update on the condition of the rescuers injured while extinguishing of the steppe fire.

According to official data, five people were injured during the firefighting efforts in the village of Shoptikol in the Karkaraly district.

"The condition of four patients is stable. The fifth patient is in serious condition (with 35 percent burns) and is currently in intensive care. All the injured are receiving the necessary medical assistance in the hospital," reported the press service of the Department of Healthcare of Karaganda region.

The condition of the injured firefighters was commented on by Berik Tuleubaev, head of the department of traumatology of the multidisciplinary hospital named after Prof. H.J. Makazhanov.

Recall: on October 6, a fire broke out in dry grass near the village of Koyandy in the Karkaraly district of the Karaganda region. A steppe fire reached the territory of a local farm in the Pavlodar region, covering an area of about 6,000 hectares.
