Helios promises to reimburse owners of burnt appartments

Representatives of Helios company have assured the residents whose apartments burnt during the explosion of the petrol tank truck that the company will restore the building’s front and pay them compensations, Tengrinews.kz reports. However, the company’s employees did not specify if the compensations will be paid fully or partially. The residents of #138 Kabanbay Batyr street have already filed their requests for aid and compensation for damaged and destroyed property to Director General of Helios, Almaty Akim (Mayor) Akhmetzhan Yessimov and Prosecutor General. Meanwhile, according to the press-service of Almaty administration, Helios managers assured the people that the company would cover the losses to all the persons whose property was damaged in the fire. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the rescue service provided the fire victims with three tents that can accommodate up to 170 people and 40 sleeping sets. Besides, space was provided in the quarters of nearby schools. “The apartments were opened and the citizens were evacuated. 39 apartments were damaged, 2 apartments burnt to ashes and 14 burnt partially,” the authorities said. The cars burnt at the accident and the truck itself were evacuated to the parking lot for inspection. The city administration continues to work at the accident site; the territory is being cleaned up. The accident claimed the life of the truck's driver and no other casualties were reported.
