Tengrinews.kz – A special commission found the guilt of the employer for the group accident at a ferroalloy plant in the Karaganda region, where a sudden flame eruption occurred on July 20.
As a result of the incident, 8 workers at the plant sustained various injuries, and 4 of them later died in the hospital. They suffered severe burns, and despite the efforts of the best Kazakh and international specialists, they could not be saved.
A special commission was established to investigate the incident. After examining the circumstances, it concluded that the primary responsibility lies with the employer.
"The commission reached this conclusion after studying the materials. The commission found out that the company failed to take adequate measures to prevent injuries and did not provide safe working conditions," the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection reported.
The commission members met with the victims and their families, explaining their rights to social protection under current legislation.
The results of the special commission's investigation and all collected materials will be handed over to law enforcement agencies to hold those found responsible for the accident accountable.
"The commission instructed the management of YDD Corporation LLP to take measures to prevent similar accidents in the future. The employer reported that all financial matters have been settled, and assistance has been provided to the close relatives of the victims," the ministry added.
