At the moment, all the injured employees are in hospital, where they are receiving urgent medical care. According to the press service of the Karaganda Region Health Department, all the injured were hospitalised at the Professor Makazhanov Multidisciplinary Hospital. The condition of five of them is extremely serious.
"Six injured are in the intensive care unit, two in the burn unit. The condition of five is assessed as critical, two as serious, and one as moderate. The injured have been examined by specialists and have undergone additional examinations. They are receiving all necessary treatment," the health department noted.
YDD Corporation has also dispatched foreign specialists for consultations, including doctors from Russia and online consultants from Israel and Turkey. They are working alongside local doctors to provide full medical care.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the incident at the ferroalloy plant under the article "Violation of labour protection rules resulting in negligent infliction of serious harm to health".
A special commission is investigating the causes of the accident. According to Murat Karakekilov, head of the Karaganda Region Labour Inspection Department, the scene of the accident was inspected and eyewitnesses were interviewed. Now the commission is studying the technical documentation.
