7 dead, 4 injured, cars burnt in accident near Atyrau

Seven people died in a car accident in Atyrau oblast, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Atyrau oblast Emergency Situations Department. The accident happened at 11:25 a.m. on April 16 on Atyrau-Uralsk road. According to the Department, VAZ-2172 and Ford Galaxy smashed into each other 40km from Atyrau. The emergency response teams that arrived to the accident site discovered that both cars caught fire as a result of the crash and stood completely burnt. According to the Department, there were three people in the VAZ-2172 and four in the Ford Galaxy. “The cause of the accident and the identities of the victims are being defined. The employees of the Road Police Department and the inquiries department of Makhambet region Emergency Situations Department and Atyrau oblast Emergency Situations Department are investigating the accident,” the press-service said. Seven people died and four were injured in the car accident. All four injured have been taken to a hospital. There were two children (born in 2010 and 2012) among the victims of the accident, Moi Gorod wrote citing head of Atyrau oblast Road Police Service Talgat Mardenov. Both drivers died as well. According to the preliminary information, five of the dead victims were students who were returning from a tour in Makhambet region of Atyrau oblast.
