The incident occurred at the Escientia Advanced Sciences plant on August 21, and the rescue operation concluded after a day. According to authorities, the explosion resulted in 17 fatalities and 40 injuries.

The preliminary cause of the incident has been identified as a leak of vapors from a chemical reactor. The exact cause will be determined by the investigation, which is currently reviewing surveillance footage and interviewing surviving employees to ascertain if human error could have contributed to the explosion.

The explosion at the plant is noted as the largest in the state in recent years.
