Tandoor bakery explodes in Astana, leaving people injured

Tengrinews.kz – A gas cylinder exploded in a room where tandoor samsa was being prepared at the Sapa market in Astana. Four people were injured as a result.

According to law enforcement agencies, the incident was reported to the 102 emergency line at 8:55 a.m. The explosion occurred at 9 Zhiyenkulov Street.

Police clarified that a 50-liter gas cylinder exploded inside the tandoor bakery. Afterward, part of the ceiling and the doorway collapsed, and a Toyota parked nearby was damaged.

“During the reconnaissance, four injured people were found and are being taken to hospital. Doctors are also examining one injured person at the scene,” police reported.

As a result of the incident, two Uzbek citizens aged 41 and 19, who were inside the premises, were injured. Two Kazakhstanis — a 16-year-old teenager and a 27-year-old man — also sustained injuries.
