Earlier, a Telegram channel published news that strong earthquakes will occur all over the planet. It was suggested that this information was found in maps discovered in the archives of Russian politician Vladimir Zhirinovsky.
"In Zhirinovsky's archives they found a map predicting a terrible future. On 16 August 2024 at 04:00 (UTC) there will be a series of very strong earthquakes all over the planet. All these catastrophes will have artificial origins, either from climate weapons or hydrogen bombs,” says the message.
This false information was denied by the Institute of Seismology.
"According to international seismological centers, August 16 in Kazakhstan and adjacent territories strong earthquakes with a magnitude of more than 5.5 points are not expected. All events registered by devices are published in Telegram-channel 112 KZ and on the website seismology.kz," said the Institute of Seismology.
Seismologists urged Kazakhstanis to trust only official information.
