A Kazakh teen girl has eloped from Stonyhurst College in the UK together with her boyfriend, reports Tengrinews citing The Telegraph.
Indira Gainieva, 17 and her boyfriend Edward Bunyan, 16 escaped from the Stonyhurst College boarding school in Clitheroe, Lancashire on January 13. The teen couple took a taxi to Manchester Airport where they caught a flight to the Dominican Republic. The police was able to track the teens through the credit card payments they made in one of the resorts in Puerto Plata.
Was it a way to have some fun or an attempt to escape from the depression that some of the couple's college friends mentioned? For many teens at the boarding school, where according to the rules all the doors are closed after 10 p.m., the escape of Indira and Edward is a “great trick” as they were able to slip through the security system unnoticed.
“Everyone's cheering the pair on and hoping they can go a bit further without being found - it's completely rocked the school's staff though,” one of the school friends of the couple told The Telegraph.
The parents of both run away teens flew to the Dominican Republic to find their children. Indira and Edward will have a lot to explain to their parents when they are found and brought back. It may not be a crime, but still underage children are not allowed to travel without their parent’s permission.
The school officials hope that teens will safely reunite with their parents soon.
