Tengrinews.kz - The National Security Committee reported the detention of foreigners in Shymkent.
According to the report, in August, the National Security Committee's department for the Turkestan region, in coordination with the prosecution services, shut down an underground laboratory producing synthetic drugs in Shymkent.
"Two foreigners were caught red-handed while manufacturing drugs and have been taken into custody. Approximately 4 kilograms of "mephedrone", 50 liters of precursors, a large sum of foreign currency, and laboratory equipment for producing synthetic drugs were seized from them," the statement said.
A pre-trial investigation is being conducted under Part 3 of Article 297 of the Criminal Code. Other information is not subject to disclosure in accordance with Part 1 of Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
Earlier, a married couple in Almaty has been arrested for operating a drug lab in their apartment.
