Tengrinews.kz — In the Pavlodar region, police and National Security Committee officers conducted a special operation to dismantle a group suspected of involvement in a series of extortion cases, citing the Polisia.kz.
Operations were carried out simultaneously in Aksu and Ekibastuz. According to preliminary data, the suspects systematically extorted money from citizens under the threat of violence. Police reported that the victims included students and employees of major industrial enterprises.
During the searches, law enforcement officers seized cash, mobile phones, bank cards, documentation, and other items of evidentiary value.
Vehicles allegedly used by the suspects were also seized and moved to a specialized impound lot.
"Criminal extortion cases have been opened. Ten individuals were taken into custody, four of whom have been arrested. Police are currently investigating the detainees' potential involvement in other similar crimes," stated Dias Kadyrov, Deputy Head of the Pavlodar Regional Police Department's Organized Crime Unit.
