Regional Maritime Boarder Patrol from the Coast Guard has discovered abandoned illegal fishing equipment in the Caspian sea, Tengrinews reports.

Poachers abandoned 7-meter nets with more than three thousand hooks and dozens of young sturgeons caught on them. Apparently, the criminals were not able to benefit from their share in the illegal fishing and timely disappeared.

The coast guards led by Senior Lieutenant Azamat Kunapyanov freed more than 70 fish listed in the Red Book of Endangered Species. The overall weight of the rescued sturgeons amounted to 150 kilos.
