A British man is charged with corruption of minors and lewd behavior in Uralsk, a city in western Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports, citing Moi Gorod local newspaper. According to the Organized Crime Division of the Department of the Interior (DIA) the case is being investigated. Askhat Urazaev of the Organized Crime Department of the DIA of West Kazakhstan Oblast, confirmed that a British national is charged with corruption of minors in Uralsk, but refrained from giving any further details. The 37 y.o British citizen is suspected of filming nude 12-13 y.o girls in a Chagala hotel room. The suspect works at ZhaikMunai oil company. The company has declined to comment the incident, referring to the ongoing investigation. The British guest had been living in Chagala hotel for quite a while, and the hotel does not deny that there is a case against him over corruption of minors. The British Consulate office in Almaty said that it was aware about the case against the British national, but also decided to keep all the further details to itself. Despite the lack of public information on the case, the assurance provided by the DIA of the ongoing investigation gives hope that justice will prevail, though the experience is very painful and traumatizing for the victims.
