Tengrinews.kz - Shymkent court has sentenced an Afghan citizen to 15 years in prison.

The court found that the defendant, together with other Afghan nationals, had smuggled methamphetamine across the border of Kazakhstan in a lorry. The drug, with a total weight of more than 3 kilograms, was dissolved in a carbonated drink. The foreigner was taking the drug for sale to Russia, but this was prevented by National Security Committee department in Shymkent.

The guilt of the accused was proved by the search protocols, his confessions, witnesses' testimonies, results of expert examinations and other evidence. The foreign citizen fully admitted guilt of the charge, repented and asked for leniency.
