Madina Ablyazova, the eldest daughter of the fugitive Kazakhstan banker charged with stealing billions Mukhtar Ablyazov, has submitted a complaint to Rome prosecutors, RIA Novosti reports citing Corriere della Sera. She is accusing three Kazakhstan diplomats of kidnapping Ablyazov's wife and child - Alma Shalabayev and Alua - and bringing them to Kazakhstan. Alma Shalabayev and Alua are currently living with Alma's parents in a villa in Almaty. They were arrested in Italy by the Italian police and then deported to their home city in Kazakhstan on a deportation order issued by an Italian court. However Madina Ablyazova intends to prove that the three Kazakhstan diplomats used their positions and political influence to make the Italian authorities - politicians, policemen and judges - harm the best interests of the Kazakhstan nationals that they deported from Italy for illegal stay. According to the newspaper, the complaint has been filed against Kazakhstan Ambassador to Italy Andrian Yelemessov, the Embassy’s political advisor Nurlan Khassen and the consul’s attaché Yerzhan Yessirkepov. The Ambassador is allegedly guilty of meeting his Italian colleagues, and the latter two diplomats of accompanying the deported woman and child on their way home. According to La Stampa, Kazakhstan Embassy in Italy rented a charter plant to take Shalabayeva and her daughter to Kazakhstan. The rented plane is registered in Austria, so Austrian police later questioned the pilot and he confirmed that the two Kazakhstan diplomats were on that plane. They were accompanying Shalabayeva and her daughter who were escorted to the plane by the Italian police. The case documents also contain a photograph made by the pilot from his cabin. The photograph shows the arrested woman with the daughter accompanied by police and the embassy’s staff members. According to the pilot, he was told that Italy deports Shalabayeva to Kazakhstan for illegal stay. Ablyazova believes that the three Kazakhstan diplomats abused their diplomatic status and should be stripped of their diplomatic immunity. The three Kazakhstan diplomats may be invited to Rome prosecutor’s office for questioning in relation to the complaint in the nearest time. Ablyazov's family lawyers are also planning to request unveiling of the names of the Italian officials who helped organize the deportation. On May 29 Italian police broke into a house in hopes to arrest Mukhtar Ablyazov, a citizen of Kazakhstan who was put on the international wanted list by several counties for an array of financial crimes. He was not there, but the police found his wife and daughter, Alma Shalabayeva and Alua, who are also citizens of Kazakhstan. None of the two were on the international wanted list, but since they failed to produce any IDs that looked solid enough to the European policemen, they were arrested and deported to Kazakhstan for illegal stay at the territory of Italy under fake passports. Shalabayeva later filed an 18-page declaration where she confirmed that they were brought to the police quarters in Rome early in the morning of May 29. After spending two days in a detention center for illegal immigrants they were deported to Kazakhstan on the official grounds of possessing fake Central African Republic passports. Shalabayeva carried a Central African Republic passport under the name of Alma Ayan. Two days later in the hearing on May 31 Riccardo Olivio produced proof that his clients had genuine Central African Republic passports and insisted that the Italian made a mistake not to recognize them. Even though the proof of the authenticity of the passports was presented only days after the deportation, it took the Italian Interior Ministry 1.5 months and lot of pressure from international rights organizations to reverse its decision to extradite Alma Shalabayeva and her daughter to Kazakhstan and even allow them to come back to Italy.
