Caspionet channel to get new name

Caspionet TV-channel will be renamed, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan Secretary of State Mukhtar Kul-Mukhammed. “We need to re-format the activities of Caspionet TV-channel and switch it to round-the-clock format and change its name, so that it is clear that it is a Kazakhstan channel,” Kul-Mukhammed instructed Minister of Culture and Information at the Ministry’s boards meeting on February 2. He noted that the contest on the new channel’s name is currently in process. “Working with the international media will be the Ministry’s new direction. There are tens of thousands of different TV-channels, hundreds of thousands of magazines and millions of websites in the world; that’s why it is necessary to improve the quality of local media aimed at the external informational market,” Secretary of State said.
