The "Frozen" princess stars of Disney's Oscar-winning animated film are set to return in a short sequel to be released next spring, the studio said Wednesday, AFP reports.
"Frozen Fever" will reunite Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf from the blockbuster movie, which took best animated feature and best music at this year's Academy Awards show.
The short film will feature a new tune by song-writing duo Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, who won the music Oscar for instant classic "Let It Go."
In the original film, Anna teamed up with Kristoff and snowman Olaf in a race to find Anna's sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom in eternal winter.
The new short film takes place on Anna's birthday, and Elsa and Kristoff are "determined to give her the best celebration ever. But Elsa's icy powers may put more than just the party at risk," said a French-language Disney statement.
The film will be directed by Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck and produced by Peter Del Vecho, all three of them reprising their roles in the original "Frozen" feature.
