Tengrinews.kz - Zhaslan Madiyev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry, said that Kazakhstan plans to introduce a program to support electric vehicles and the introduction of self-driving cars. We learned from the Ministry of Transport what decisions are being made to develop driverless transport in the country.
As the press service of the Committee for Roads of the Ministry of Transport responded, no active measures are currently being implemented to develop driverless transport.
"As this area develops, we are ready to adapt the legislative and infrastructural framework for the integration of driverless technologies into the country's road sector," the press service of the Committee for Roads of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted.
The list of necessary measures for the successful introduction of autonomous cars, according to the ministry, includes:
- adaptation of road infrastructure;
- ensuring a stable and fast Internet connection on the roads.
"As part of the national project "Accessible Internet", it is planned that by 2027, 100% of republican and regional roads will be covered by mobile Internet, which is an important step in supporting unmanned transport," the press service noted.
