Tengrinews.kz – Minister of Transport Marat Karabayev announced that an additional 4000 kilometers of toll sections will be introduced in 2025. Considering that today such a system operates on only 3.2 thousand kilometers of roads throughout the country, the number of toll sections will more than double.

During a government meeting, Karabayev emphasized that in order to reduce the burden on the budget and ensure self-sufficiency in sections where reconstruction and repair work have been completed, the toll road status is being gradually introduced.

"At the moment, a toll road system with a length of 3200 kilometers operates throughout the country. In 2024, revenue amounted to 48 billion tenge. This year, an additional 4 thousand kilometers of toll sections will be introduced, from which revenues will amount to 60 billion tenge, and next year they can reach 100 billion tenge," he said.

In addition, as the minister noted, the issue of using part of the funds received from toll roads to pay off interest rates on loans taken for construction work is being considered.
