Tengrinews.kz – Electric scooter drivers must comply with safety rules so as not to pose a threat to pedestrians. This was reported by the Chairman of the Administrative Police Committee Kaisar Sultanbayev.
Since June, about 1.5 thousand violations related to electric scooters, as well as accidents with casualties, have been registered. As Sultanbayev recalled, electric scooters must move along the bicycle path, and if there is none, along the right edge of the roadway.
Only persons over 18 years of age with a driver's license and wearing a helmet are allowed on the roadway. Movement on the sidewalk is allowed, but pedestrians always have priority.
"The driver of electric scooters must not create a danger to pedestrian traffic," Sultanbayev emphasized at a press conference.
In addition, it is prohibited:
- driving an electric scooter without holding the steering wheel with one hand;
- transporting goods and passengers;
- towing other vehicles;
- moving in the dark without reflective elements.
