Affordable cars called Chance, known as Daewoo Lanos, will be assembled in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Director General of Allur Auto group of companies Andrei Lavrentyev as saying at the press-conference in Almaty. According to him, Kostanai factory Agromashholding will start producing Chance starting from March 16, 2012. This year the plant is planning to produce around 3,000 cars. Lavrentyev also said that the documents had already been signed to kick-off the production, the equipment was being adjusted at the factory and the personnel had already been trained. The total volume of investments to Kazakhstan project Chance will make $24 million. This model is already sold at Kazakhstan market; but it is brought from Ukraine. 973 cars were sold in 2011: this is 1.93 percent of Kazakhstan's market. Tengrinews.kz English earlier reported that modern sedan and hatchback cars will have 1.3-1.5 liter engines, manual or automatic transmission. Different options for interior and additional security systems will also be available. All the cars will get warranty and post-warranty service. The minimum cost of the car will be $8,990. Allur Auto will continue working on Kazakhstan-made offroader Nomad . Its serial production is scheduled to start in April 2013 at 25,000 cars a year. The license for production of this car has been obtained from SsangYong, South Korea, that will add up Iveco brand to its line in 2012. Kostanai factory will start manufacturing light trucks equipped for public services, such as ambulances and mobile laboratories. The plan is also to manufacture buses. Around 400 Iveco cars will be assembled in Kostanai in 2012.
