Tengrinews.kz - Kazakh seismologists have reported an earthquake in China, with tremors detected on September 4 at 12:15 p.m. Astana time.
According to the Kazakhstan National Data Center of the Institute of Geophysical Research, the quake had a magnitude of 5.
The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), however, estimated its strength at 4.6.
The epicenter was located about 436 kilometers southeast of Almaty. No tremors were reported on Kazakh territory.
Earlier, on August 28, an earthquake occurred in the East Kazakhstan region.
