Tengrinews.kz - At least 24 people are presumed dead, and more than a dozen are missing as wildfires sweep through Southern California, according to ABC News.
The latest data from the Los Angeles County Coroner's Office indicates that 16 deaths are linked to the Eaton Canyon fire, while 8 are associated with the Palisades fire.
It is expected that the number of casualties may increase.
Firefighting teams are struggling to contain the devastating impacts of these fires. Thousands of rescue workers are deployed across the densely populated Los Angeles County. The largest fire, in the Palisades, has destroyed thousands of structures and is only 11% contained, while the Eaton Canyon fire is 27% contained.
