Tengrinews.kz - The U.S. Army and Navy successfully tested a hypersonic missile, according to the U.S. Department of Defense.
This marks the second successful full flight test of the All Up Round system this year and the first operational launch of the long-range hypersonic weapons system.
"This test marks an important milestone in the development of one of our most advanced weapons systems. As we approach the first delivery of this capability to our Army partners, we will continue to press forward to integrate Conventional Prompt Strike into our Navy surface and subsurface ships to help ensure we remain the world's preeminent fighting force," said U.S. Navy Secretary Carlos Del Toro.
The tests were conducted at the U.S. Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida.
"The responsiveness, maneuverability, and survivability of hypersonic weapons are unmatched by traditional strike capabilities for precision targeting, especially in anti-access/area denial environments," said Lieutenant General Robert A. Rasch.
