Tengrinews.kz – President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev congratulated the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, on the successful holding of elections to the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic, according to Akorda’s press service.
The Head of State emphasized that the results of this important political event demonstrate Kyrgyzstan’s confident progress toward achieving its strategic development goals.
“The parliamentary elections reflected the nationwide support for your course aimed at building a strong and prosperous state. I am very pleased to note the dynamic development of Kazakh–Kyrgyz relations of strategic partnership and alliance. I am convinced that, relying on our centuries-old friendship, good neighborliness, and mutual support, we will multiply our achievements and elevate the interstate cooperation between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan to new heights,” Tokayev wrote.
The President of Kazakhstan wished Sadyr Japarov further success in his responsible work for the benefit of the brotherly Kyrgyz people.
In Kyrgyzstan, voting began on Sunday morning in the early parliamentary elections for deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh (the unicameral parliament). Voting will continue until 8:00 PM (7:00 PM Astana time). Preliminary results will be known almost immediately after it ends. The final results will be tallied and officially announced by December 14.
