Before traveling, it’s essential to check not only your passport’s validity but also the number of blank pages it contains.
Many travelers take pride in watching their passports fill with stamps, turning them into a book of memories. However, the number of stamps can become a problem if there aren’t enough blank pages available, experts warn.
"One rule many travelers miss is needing an adequate number of blank pages in their passport for visas, and entry and exit stamps," said a representative from a visa service.
Travelers are advised to check how many blank pages are required by the destination country.
"Some countries require passports to have at least two to four blank visa or stamp pages, and thus, some airlines will not allow you to board if this requirement is not met," one expert writes.
Additionally, travelers should ensure their passport is valid for at least three to six months beyond the date of their international trip, as this is a common requirement in many countries.
The list of countries enforcing these rules is extensive and includes popular tourist destinations.
It’s also important to note that in some countries, pages reserved for border crossing stamps are not counted as visa pages.
While this issue remains significant, it may become less common as more countries transition to electronic border control systems using biometric data.
