Tengrinews.kz - South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol's aides, including his chief of staff, resigned en masse on Wednesday, according to Yonhap News.

Among those who resigned were presidential chief of staff Chung Jin-suk; national security adviser Shin Won-sik; and policy chief of staff Sung Tae-yoon, among seven other senior aides.

The resignation proposal came after Yoon declared martial law on Tuesday night, accusing the opposition of "anti-state forces" paralyzing the country with impeachment proposals and a truncated budget bill.

Earlier, President Yoon Suk Yeol announced the cancellation of martial law, just hours after implementing it on the evening of December 3.

The Embassy of Kazakhstan in South Korea has issued a statement addressing Kazakhstan citizens residing in the country amid recent developments.
