Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held talks with European Council President Antonio Costa on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.

Welcoming the head of the European Council, Tokayev emphasized Kazakhstan’s firm commitment to further strengthening its partnership with the European Union, both on a bilateral level and within the C5+ dialogue format.
“During the conversation, the high momentum of political dialogue was noted, which contributes to the advancement of trade, economic, investment, and cultural-humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and the European Union,” the press release stated.
The two leaders also exchanged views on current international and regional issues.
As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue contacts aimed at expanding mutually beneficial interregional cooperation.
Earlier, the Kazakh leader met with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, where they discussed the agenda of the General Assembly session. Tokayev reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s continued support for the United Nations and its central role in promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development.
The President also held a meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, during which Tokayev expressed the opinion that diplomatic efforts should continue in search of a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Ukraine.
