Preliminary reports indicate that a Boeing 787 Dreamliner operated by Air India, en route from Ahmedabad to London, crashed shortly after takeoff.

Local media report that there may have been 232 passengers and 12 crew members on board.

Eyewitnesses describe panic at the crash site. Emergency services have been dispatched to the scene. There is no confirmed information yet on the number of casualties or injured.
