Tengrinews.kz — Oil prices jumped 3 percent at the opening of Asian exchanges on Monday, rising above $90 per barrel. Escalating mutual attacks between the United States and Iran in the Middle East further restricted energy supplies through the Strait of Hormuz.
According to ice.com, the price of September futures contracts for benchmark Brent crude rose by $2.69 to $90.79 by 23:43 GMT, or 4:43 a.m. Astana time, reaching its highest level since June 11.

The price fell slightly after trading began, but only marginally.
The price of U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude stood at $84.68 per barrel, up $2.19, or 2.65 percent, its highest level since June 12.
