As the TV channel reports, the first attempt to extinguish the fire was made by eyewitnesses.

Videos published on social networks show how black smoke rising from the scene enveloped the sky.

According to eyewitnesses, there were workers in the 12-story building. They went out onto the balconies to save themselves.

Fire crews arrived at the hotel. The workers trapped on the top floor of the building were rescued. Cranes were used to evacuate them.

It is reported that firefighting is ongoing.

It turned out that the cause of the fire was the work of a welding machine.

Earlier, a major fire broke out at the popular Kartalkaya ski resort in the Turkish province of Bolu on the night of January 21. According to local media, the death toll has exceeded 60 people.

Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan said that there were no Kazakhs among the victims.
