Presidential elections closed in Kazakhstan

Presidential elections in Kazakhstan closed in the entire territory of Kazakhstan. Clocks struck 8 p.m. in the lagging Aktubinsk, Atyrau, Mangistau and West Kazakhstan oblasts. At 8 p.m. Astana time, Vice Chairperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC) announced start of vote count in all the other country’s regions located in a different time zone. Given the time difference, preliminary voter turnout results will be available 10:30 p.m. Astana time, Tengrinews.kz reports. As of 6:30 p.m. Astana time, voters turnout stood at 84%, i.e. 7 709 159 people.
