Tengrinews.kz – U.S. President Donald Trump has unveiled the design of a new golden card that offers wealthy immigrants a fast-track to American citizenship.
Trump revealed the card while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One.
The card, which costs $5 million, is targeted at affluent immigrants seeking permanent residency in the United States.
The initiative comes as part of a revamp of the EB-5 visa program, which previously granted green cards to foreigners who invested at least $1 million in the U.S.
"For $5 million, this can be yours. This was the first of the cards. You know what that card is? It’s the Trump Card – the gold card," Trump said while displaying the item.
The card features an image of Trump alongside the Statue of Liberty, with bold lettering reading 'The Trump Card' and 'United States of America'.
Responding to a journalist’s question, Trump said he was the first buyer of the golden card and admitted he did not know who had purchased the second one.
Earlier, Trump signed an executive order aimed at restricting birthright citizenship. The order was challenged by human rights groups, and a district court in Seattle temporarily blocked its enforcement.
