Over 140 Kazakhstan citizens have been evacuated from Syria, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the official representative of Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry Zhanbolat Ussenov. “The Foreign Ministry continues working on evacuation of our citizens temporarily or permanently residing in Syria in relation to the complicated local political situation and security threats in this country. Over 140 Kazakhstan citizens have been evacuated under the Kazakhstan Foreign Ministry’s support so far,” Ussenov said. In response to this work, the Foreign Ministry is receiving letters of gratitude from the relatives of the evacuated Kazakhstan citizens. “The family of Julia Mukhina sent a letter where it expressed gratitude to the Foreign Ministry and Kazakhstan ambassador to Jordan Bolat Sarsenbayev personally for the quick solution and support in evacuation of her daughter and three grandchildren from Daraa, Syria,” Zhanbolat Ussenov said. 150 Kazakhstan citizens were registered in Kazakhstan consulate in Damascus before the start of evacuation.
