The Shymbulak ski resort administration claims the Subaru drift video that went viral recently to be staged by professional stunt men, Tengrinews reports. The video hit YouTube on February 17. It starts as probably any video with a snowboarder trying out some cool tricks. But it is not the snowboard tricks that caused the video operator’s reaction. A sudden appearance of Subaru Legacy on the Shymbulak slope shocks the snowboarders. The car drifts on a snowy slope clearly ruining the track. The administration claims that a stunt was organised with all due security precautions taken into consideration. Apparently a racer Anton Avdeev, who’s son became a YouTube star, was driving the car. The video caption says: "Friends shared a video from Shymbulak late night skiing. Some drifter hooligan started racing with snowboarders and skiers on the slope. I don't know if he was caught or not, but that was bold!" Operation Manager of Shymbulak Alexey Domnitsky said that the snow patrol of the resort checked snow thickness on the track and assured that there will be no avalanches. “We have tamped down the snow on the slope. A rescue team, an ambulance, a snow patrol and a group of firefighters were on duty during the filming, ” Domnitsky said. He also thanked everyone who took part in the long-planned project. Interestingly, the video operator and the snowboarder looked clearly surprised to see the drifter on the skiing track. But maybe they are just great actors? Internet folks, lamenting the ruined slope were outraged with the Subaru stunt and did not take the Shymbulak administration’s words seriously.
