An illegal pipeline pumping ethyl alcohol has been unearthed on the border of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing KTK TV channel. Smugglers were pumped ethyl alcohol from Kazakhstan’s Zhambyl oblast to Kyrgyzstan’s Chuya oblast via an improvised 12-meter long pipeline. The pipeline was laid less than one kilometer off to the side from a border control station. However, Kyrgyzstan border guards found it merely accidentally. They stopped a driver with bottles full of alcohol and he came out with the whole story. A primitive 12-meter long rubber hose went through country-fields. The authorities believe that the illegal pipeline has been operating since 2008. According to preliminary data, the smugglers have pumped more than 100 tons of alcohol over from Kazakhstan.
