The International Weightlifting Federation has disqualified nine weightlifters from Kazakhstan, including the 2013 Asian Champion Alexandra Aborneva and silver winner of the Universiade in Kazan Alexandr Zaichikov, Tengrinews reports citing Vesti.kz. Their names turned up on the list of sportsmen, whose blood contained prohibited substances. The 2013 Asian Champion Alexandra Aborneva, the Asian Champion and silver winner of the Kazan Universiade Alexandr Zaichikov and the bronze medal winner of the Astana Continental Championship Yevgeny Evstafiyev got a two-year disqualification. The other six Kazakhstan weightlifters who failed to pass the doping test are Maira Faizollayeva, Assem Sarsekenova, Aidar Kazov, Maxim Laktionov, Galymbek Zhubatkanov and Yerbolat Zholamanov. "Our athletes did not pass the doping test, now they have to return the medals that they won at the competitions this year. Besides, the weightlifters will be deprived of their wages and expelled from the Kazakhstan national team," Secretary General of the Weightlifting Federation of Kazakhstan Mendikhan Tapsir said. But the Federation is not planning to give up on them: "They are young and after the disqualification period expires they will return back to the sport," he added. According to the results of the doping test, Aborneva, Faizollayeva, Sarsekenova, Evstafiyev, Kazov, Zhubatkanov and Laktionov were taking dehydrochlormethyltestosterone, while Zaichikov and Zholamanov were on stanozolol. The disqualification period of all the nine athletes will expire in summer 2015.
