Kazakhstan is planing to launch a new ski jumping stadium in Borovoye resort not far from Astana. It is going to be completed by the end of 2014, Tengrinews reports citing the chief of the Tourism Department of Akmola Oblast Shynarbek Batyrkhanov."We hope that the project will be launched by the end of 2014. Construction of the biathlon facility has been already completed and it is ready for use. It remains to finish the ski jumping complex, the ski jumping hill in particular," Batyrkhanov said. The jumping hill is going to be something special: "There is no similar skiing jumping complex in the world, because the skiing hill of Borovoye has two slopes," Batyrkhanov said.According to Batyrkhanov, the average 15 thousand people visit the resort every day. The tourist flow is far above the average in summer, but stays as low of 40% in autumn and only 30-35% in winter."We are working to attract more visitors to the resort in winter. It is unlikely to that we can reach 15 thousand people a day, but if we bring the inflow to 80% of the average it will be a giant step forward," the Tourism Department head said."After we launch the ski jumping complex we will be able to host large international winter sports championships. It will attract sports stars, professional, amateurs and fans," Batyrkhanov concluded.By Altynai Zhumzhumina
