Six offroaders and one truck will represent Kazakhstan's Astana rally raid team in the prestigious Dakar rally, Vesti.kz reports. Kazakhstan team is going to participate in two continental races at the same time. Three offroaders and one truck will take part in Dakar-2013 Rally that will be held in Latin America. At the same time three Kazakhstan offroaders will kick off from Europe and drive the classical Dakar route to the capital of Senegal. It is still undecided if a motorcycle will represent Kazakhstan in the rally. “It is a great pleasure for us to participate in both races. Kazakhstan rally raid team is growing bigger and everybody knows and respects us today. Of course, it won’t be easy. We already know this route. There will be country roads and rocky roads, rockfalls in the mountains and impassable sands. We hope that we will be able to show some decent racing both in Africa and Latin America,” Arthur Ardavichus, leader and pilot of the team said. The vehicles that will take part in the rally are being prepared for the race at present. “The cars that will participate in the African race are brand new and the technicians are reequip them in Venice now. They will be all set by the start of the rally. The vehicles meant for Dakar Rally may not be overly high-powered, but they are very sturdy and are well set for the rally,” the team's technical director Zhanat Zhalimbetov said. Kazakhstan racer Andrey Cherednikov will take part in Dakar Rally as part of Russia’s G-Force team this year. “I will drive their vehicle and Russian team will support me during the race. However I will proudly drive under the colors of Kazakhstan and be proud to bear the name of Astana team,” Cherednikov said.
